SUMMER IN BRAKBRE

The chilliness of spring gives way to thick air that hums and buzzes with insects. With that warmth comes frowning clouds on the horizon, dark and gray and thunderous. The animals of Brakbre have finally shed out their winter coats and enjoy the sun--long a as it lasts. Summer brings fresh vegetables and blooms and fireflies but it also brings with it the storm.
Great heady clouds lurk on the horizon now and the distant crush of thunder like a boot through hard packed snow drifts across the fields. The sky is dark. The air prickles with the smell of rain. And then, the clouds open. Summer rain pours down over the forest and the fields and the town and the hollows. It comes down in barrels and buckets and cups and it's all quite lovely if you're a duck. The rains last for days and great puddles fill all the low places.
How do the creatures of Brakbre fair, I wonder...

With the rains now passed, it is time for the community to celebrate the warm dry days stretching out before them and what better way to do that than the market! Stalls and tables of all sorts have been set up along the creek. Everything from vegetables of questionable origin to human artifacts can be found here. And what do you buy with? It depends on the seller. Some creatures have an eye for the shining coins from town and some are perfectly happy with a trade. There are even a few kind souls that are giving their goods away in return for conversation.
And how about that weather? You know, I heard the toads talking and they said something mysterious was moving through the woods during the downpour--what with them being the ones out and about in it the most. But you know how toads are, they love to talk.
